What Is Laser Lipo and How Does It Work?
From birth, our bodies produce an ever increasing number of fat cells.
This normal growth continues until just after puberty, after which, the average human will have around 50 billion fat cells within their body.
The fat stored in these cells is used by the body as energy as and when it is required.
However, from your mid-twenties the average person will gain extra body fat at the rate of 1g a day, leading to a weight gain of 20lbs by age 50.
Laser energy stimulates these distended fat cells into releasing some of their contents (fatty acids and glycerol), for the body to burn as energy or removed by normal liver function.
The human body is fuelled by 10% carbohydrates, 5% protein and 85% fat. During exercise or when the body requires more fuel to burn, a chemical signal is sent to the fat cells asking that they release fat for energy.
Our New Generation Combined Laser Lipo system stimulates the fat cells to do the same by the use of low level laser energy.
Laying comfortably on a couch, the New Generation Combined Laser Lipo system will gently and painlessly release fat in the form fatty acids and glycerol, which will then be burned or disposed of by normal body functions.
Once stimulated, the fat cells continue to release their contents for up to 24 hours.

Laser Lipo works just as well on men as it does on women. Men generally have the greatest success in the chin, chest, upper and lower abs, and the love handles.

Non-invasive Laser Lipo technology works with a patented cold laser conductor. Originally designed to speed up healing, doctors noticed that the cold laser technology would also liquefy fat cells painlessly. In contrast to Liposuction, the non-invasive Laser Lipo does not remove the fat cell, it drains it. The fat can be drained by a healthy person’s lymphatic system reducing by a few inches each week. The Laser Lipo works by focusing the cold red laser which permeates to the fat cells and triggers the cell membrane to break and release the fat from the cells. It is safe, painless and completely non-invasive.
There are other devices on the market that use ultrasound or radio frequency treatments, or the invasive type liposuction treatments. The Laser is completely non-invasive and the cold red laser cannot be felt or heard making the treatment extremely relaxing, quick and effective. The Laser Lipo also uses two probes that assist with lymphatic drainage to assist the body in flushing the fat and waste. Low level laser is often used for cell regeneration and pain relief so there are other benefits to this type of treatment that other devices do not deliver.
Laser therapy has been used to liquify fat by doctors for many years and has become commonplace in cosmetic surgery around the world.
The standard treatment protocol is 2 weekly, 40 minute treatments for 4 – 6 weeks. Maintenance treatments can be performed monthly after the full treatments have been completed or as determined by the client’s needs and clinical technician expertise.

The Laser Lipo is very safe. In fact, the initial purpose of low level laser technology (Meridian’s Lapex-2000) was for pain relief and cell regeneration for healing. A clinical trial demonstrated that modifying the frequencies and output was effective for fat reduction and after continued studies it was discovered that low level laser therapy was a safe and effective indication for body contouring and spot fat reduction.
There is not really an “ideal” candidate. The Laser Lipo has been shown to be effective on many different body types. The most immediately noticeable results are often shown on individuals who exercise (or have exercised) regularly, not obese or just have localized fat deposits that they cannot get rid of with diet or exercise.
Laser Lipo treatments result in the liquefaction of fats, the liquefied fat is then drained through lymph drainage. The effectiveness of fat drainage during and after treatment is dependent on proper functioning of the lymphatic system, which is responsible for removing wastes from the body.
Anyone who wants to improve any problem areas: thighs, hips, buttocks, abdomen or upper arms is an ideal candidate. It is most efficient to combine the Laser Lipo with a healthy diet and exercise program.
Treatments are effective for use on the back of the arms, the upper and lower abdomen, chin/neck and jowls, knees, upper and lower back, inner and outer thighs, buttocks, love handles, and the male chest.
One can resume normal activities immediately as the Laser Lipo is completely noninvasive with no down-time whatsoever. After the treatment it is encouraged that you do some sort of cardio type activity to move things along. i.e.: use a whole body vibration machine, jumping on a mini trampoline, Stairmaster, treadmill or a brisk walk.
Male and female clients have found that those hard to reduce trouble spots, such as love handles, tummy bulge, and saddlebags can be treated quite significantly within just a few treatments.
