What is Cryolipolysis? Cryolipolysis, or cryo fat freeze as we call it here at CHC Aesthetics, is an increasingly popular way to destroy stubborn fat cells by means of cooling affected areas of the body to a carefully controlled temperature.
Cryolipolysis is known by a number of other names worldwide. You may have read about treatments called Cool Sculpt, Cryo Lipo, Cool Sculpture, Freeze Slimming, Cryo Fat Freeze and Cryotherapy, and these are all essentially variations on the same treatment. The general umbrella term used for these types of treatments is “Cryolipolysis“, and it offers a popular non-surgical alternative to traditional liposuction.

The science behind Cryolipolysis
By exposing affected areas to localised cooling at a carefully controlled temperature (usually between about -5 and +5 Celsius), subcutaneous fat tissue can be destroyed without apparent damage to the overlying skin. The procedure is non-invasive (there’s no surgery involved), is localised (meaning that we can be very precise about the area we treat), and by reducing those stubborn fat deposits, we can reshape the contours of the body.
