About CHC Aesthetics
The origins of CHC Aesthetics go back to the early 2000s, when our founding aesthetician Penny Hawker opened the pioneering Cliff House Clinic, one of the first aesthetics clinics in Essex. We opened a second clinic, Essex Laser Lipo, in the 2010s, before moving into our current premises as CHC Aesthetics at 35 Alexandra St, in Southend’s beautiful conservation area.
Now, comprising a team of fully qualified aestheticians providing a full range of body sculpting services and facial aesthetics, with the addition of Dr. Tala Khazim, an advanced facial aesthetician who is a qualified doctor, our award-winning Clinic has never been better placed to offer this unrivalled selection of services.

Meet our founder, Penny Hawker
Penny Hawker became interested in face and body aesthetics in the late 1990s, after an interesting and varied career which has included a background in nursing and a highly successful consultancy in the private health insurance profession.
With an enquiring mind and an unquenchable thirst to learn ever more about the fascinating world of aesthetics, Penny has also undertaken training as a psychotherapist, studied nutrition and is actively engaged in “lifestyle” health, writing occasional blogs on the subject.
Penny is a passionate animal lover, has run the London Marathon and regularly attends advanced Pilates and Yoga classes.

Legislation in the uk using lasers in aesthetic treatments
Legislation in the UK for aesthetic practitioners where the use of various types of lasers are used are required to hold ITEC level 3 and 4 qualifications in conjunction with the manufacturer’s certification (ITEC is the leading international examination board).
This qualification is required in the UK by law for any aesthetic practitioner to safely operate IPL, Lasers and ND YAG laser treatments for the purposes of skin rejuvenation, hair removal, fat removal and other cosmetic treatments.
The industry requires such qualifications to ensure that proper insurances can be obtained, and safety measures and professional protocols are adhered to. At CHC Aesthetics we work in conjunction on a consultancy basis with Lipo Body Slender and the New Brook training school, a highly respected body of professionals in aesthetic practices.
