Easy tricks to burn fat after your holiday meal

The Christmas holidays are just around the corner, and we need to plan how we can “indulge” during the festivities without gaining weight and storing that fat around your midriff, also known as belly fat, or visceral fat which can wrap and store around your vital organs.

All the fat that accumulates around your middle is basically just unused carbs that your body didn’t need, so your cleverly-designed body, which is built for survival, has stored them for you!

So today I wanted to share with you some easy tricks to do after your holiday meals to burn calories and burn fat fast!

Before bed

Have a large glass of water with lemon, to cleanse your kidneys and encourage the body to detoxify.  Also camomile tea or similar will encourage restful sleep  – which leads to maximum fat burning! (This will be addressed in another blog in the future – it’s worth knowing why we store fat or burn fat when sleeping.

Yes, it’s true.  The better the sleep quality, the faster your body burns fat!  It’s pretty amazing really, how you can turn your body into a fat-burning machine with just a few tweaks when you sleep! 

The morning after

The morning, after your Christmas meals and drinks, you should start with a large glass of warm water with lemon and ginger.  This will enhance the body’s natural detoxification process and helps flush  everything out and improve your digestion. 

Remember you have your own personal on board detoxification unitit’s called your liver!  So give it all the help you can and in return you will be burning fat!  (There are many other ways to help your liver detox, but that is another blog post for another time.) 

This lemon and ginger drink will help you feel energized and its super hydrating! So even if you drink a few more glasses than expected, it can help you feel better.

Get Your Sweat On

Don’t worry, you don’t need to work out for an hour to lose weight and burn fat.  A quick 15-minute workout or a 30 minute walk really is all it takes.

Rinse & Repeat as needed 

Yes, just like it sounds! You can do this every single day to look and feel your best, and not just during the holidays.  I do these things every day and if you have been to the clinic, you will have heard me extolling the virtues of these natural fat-burning methods.

And if all else fails and you have gained a little weight, perhaps a little help is required, some fat loss treatments can kick start you again when the holidays are over.
